Gabriel L. Negretto has a Law degree from the University of Buenos Aires, a Master of International Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs of Columbia University and a PhD in Political Science from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences of Columbia University (New York). He is an associate professor at CIDE (Mexico City); and belongs to the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (Mexico). His main research interests are: constitutional change, institutional design, and Latin American presidentialism. He has published several articles on these topics in The British Journal of Political Science, The Journal of Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Government and Opposition, Latin American Politics and Society, and the Journal of Latin American Studies, among others. His most recent work is the book Making Constitutions. Presidents, Parties and Institutional Choice in Latin America, forthcoming in Cambridge University Press.
