Julio Ríos-Figueroa
is Assistant Professor at the Division
of Political Studies at CIDE, in Mexico City. He received his Ph.D.
from New York University
(NYU) in 2006. He is a former Hauser
Research Scholar at NYU's School of Law. Professor Ríos-Figueroa's
research focuses in comparative political institutions, constitutionalism,
law and courts, and Latin American politics. His articles have appeared
in journals such as Comparative Politics, Comparative Political
Studies, Journal of Latin American Politics and Latin
American Politics and Society. He is co-editor with Gretchen
Hemke of the forthcoming volume Courts
in Latin America, and he is currently working on a book-length
project on the institutional determinants of the judicial construction
of due process rights in Latin America.
